Ancestors

  By jsmorgane 23 April 2010 - 12:51 23 April 2010 poems

He wrote a letter
We asked him
What about

He simply said
To say Thank You
And Goodbye

Font size 16
Double-spaced
Just to make sure

He might not
Read his hand
A little boy’s

Talking about
He would not
Tell us

What he meant
In a world
Now bereft

Certainty fluttering
With the letter
Into the grave
